So let's have a moment of honesty and transparency. Can I do that with you Fashmira Friends!? Life has been lifing! I repeat LIFE HAS BEEN LIFING. It felt as though every area of my life decided to get shaken up, and I started to lose my footing. Times like these, life can seem overwhelming, confusing, and utterly chaotic. For a while I was feeling a little lost and I honestly still kinda am… I had to take a step back and realize, it's okay to be vulnerable, and to not have all the answers. This is a part of our human journey, and it's during these challenging times that we often undergo the most significant growth… we discover our inner strength and resilience. When life takes a turn it's simply a new beginning, an opportunity to rebuild stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever before. 

So, Fashmira Friends, if you ever feel overwhelmed by life's demands, remember that it's okay to take a breather. It's okay to step back in order to limit chaos, even if it's just for a little while. Trust me, you'll come back stronger, more focused, and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. I'm back now, recharged, and ready to get back to sharing my journey with you all. My underlying goal of this blog has always been to inspire, uplift, and encourage others. But in order to do that, I have to inspire, uplift, and encourage myself first. I took some time to catch my breath, find my direction, and focus on navigating through.

Life is a crazy thing because you can truly experience happiness, hurt, and healing all at the same time. Sometimes we have to hit the pause button on certain areas of our lives so that we can realign ourselves and rediscover the things that truly matter to us. It is through this stage of rediscovery that we go through a mix of emotions that eventually lead to a breakthrough...

I’ve had the opportunity to rediscover my dreams and goals, and begin putting them back in the forefront. In doing so it has led to a trickle down effect, of change:

• I have been able to reconnect with myself and trust in my beautiful journey.
• I am focused on establishing meaningful connections that foster positive development and growth within myself.
• I've been reassessing my priorities, and aligning all of my actions with my values and desires.
• I have rediscovered my passions and interests, and am allowing myself to deep dive in them.
• I have been able to see the fruits of my efforts, with an increase in new experiences and expanding opportunities.

​So, guess what? Here we are back again. What is this take 3... take 5 or take 7? It doesn't matter how many times I start over, restart, or as I like to say refocus. I'm going to continue to pour into my vision because it's something that matters to me. So I'm here...still thriving and still shining! Bring on the challenges, because I’m ready for them! But, also bring on the opportunities, the growth, and the positivity because I’m here for that too. What was it Jhene Aiko said?!?! “We don't just get by, we thrive!” (Or something like that lol) We are not defined by the struggles we go through, but how we rise above them. Stay strong and never forget to shine your light, because the world needs it!

Excited to share with you that FASHMIRA is coming back in full swing.
Honestly... it's coming back better than ever!

So much has happened over the past couple of years since first launching the blog, and then later diving into creating products. Different things in my personal life, and different things when it comes to the world of running a business. 
 
The truth is… life happens and life is hard. No matter what is going on in our lives time just continues to move. We choose what things to prioritize, and pick what is more important to us. Unfortunately… full transparency, sometimes FASHMIRA has landed on the back burner. How terrible is that? My love for fashion, my bachelors in business, and my movement towards self love is getting put on the back burner? What the heck has been going on….
 
I’ve been taking a lot of time to reflect on myself and realign what matters to me. I've been taking the time to make those things a priority. It’s time to really refocus and get on the right track… There's so much that I want to do and see happen, but if I'm not putting in the work and giving it my all, how can I expect to see any of those things come to life? One of the main messages of FASHMIRA is to promote self-love, so I have to lead by example, and pour into myself before I could pour into others.
 
As of March 2023, Fashmira will be elevating!!! This isn't a rebrand and this isn't a relaunch. The vision and mission remains the same. However, the consistency in content will be something you have yet to see before. This is a REFOCUS. Get prepared for more blog posts that give you an insight into my thoughts and life. Are you ready for more pictures that encourage and influence you? Maybe you'll even get to see a few videos here and there too! New products will be emerging that give you inspiration and scream empowerment! I'll also be participating in events to help bring all of my messages to life. The list just goes on and on! I'm embarking on this journey, and I can't wait to share it with you.

Thank you to those of you who have been around since the beginning. Thank you for hopping on board and riding out these waves with me while I worked on myself and also worked on the brand. Thank you to all of the new faces that have recently subscribed, purchased, and believed in what is to come. Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! I just turned 27 (June 13th Woot!! Woot!!) so let's throw it back to my birthday last year!! If you scroll through my posts you'll see some of my looks from 26. But what I didn't share was my main outfit! Shame on me, so let's talk about it!

An all white ensemble is definitely always a statement look to me. However to some it also means.... bride. All day I heard " You look like you're going to get married!" And then there was my mom who called me a vegas runaway bride! How about angel? Why couldn't I just be called a birthday angel or something? Nope a runaway bride! NEVERTHELESS, it was definitely a great look!

Originally my plan was to just have a big brunch or dinner with all my family and friends. I would only have one look so I had to make it count. I ordered so many different dresses and none of them were giving me the vibe that I needed. I started to order so many different things to piece together and create my own look. Then literally 2 weeks before my birthday I found this!  Luckily, as you can see from my  birthday post from last year it turned into a whole weekend celebration and a trip, so all those extra clothes I ordered did not go to waste! I did wind up still doing a brunch with some of my close girlfriends and this outfit was the perfect look for it.

I wanted an outfit that made me the center of attention. I wanted to find a piece that that turned heads and had a little bit of extraness to it. This dress did just that! The sleeves were my favorite part and they gave it the level of extraness that I needed. At first, I was nervous when I ordered it because sometimes if a garment isn't executed properly sleeves like these can either look lifeless or be stiff and uncomfortable. However, they were perfect! Super bouncy and not itchy and scratchy on the skin​.

The white on this dress was so crisp and bright, which is hard to come by sometimes! Hopefully I can keep it that way. If you can't tell by now I love a good crop top and this one showed just enough skin, and the sweetheart neckline added to the angelic feel. When it comes to the skirt the ruching was the perfect added touch! I like ruching because it hides the tummy, and it never fails that when I eat I get a little food baby! So, this skirt was perfect for brunch because I definitely pigged out! When they created this two-piece dress they added all the perfect elements. I felt like this dress was made for me!

This has been one of my favorite birthday looks! Let me be honest though, pretty much all of my birthday outfits are my favorite looks! I just turned 27 so keep your eyes on the blog to see my next upcoming looks!

I am so excited and proud that I launched my first physical product in 2020. I have always loved designing things and showcasing my creativity through my creations. Ever since I was a little girl,  I would always make sketches of clothes and accessories, it was literally my favorite thing to draw! Elaborate dresses, graphic shirts, intricate jewelry, and so much more. I have always had a love for fashion and design, and I knew I wanted it to be a part of my future.

When I was a Junior in High School I actually designed my prom dress. I spent time creating sketches of the dress with all of the features I wanted it to have. I went to the fabric store and picked out all of the fabrics and embellishments! I have not mastered the art of sewing just yet, but I have an amazing grandma who was able to take my vision and turn it into reality. When I was able to finally see one of my designs come to life, it was such an exciting moment, and I knew I wanted to experience this feeling over and over! I have so many ideas running through my head and it's time to start bringing them all into existence!

I've realized that I need to focus on my passions more. I have a head full of dreams and ideas, but if I don't become more consistent, then I won't be able to turn everything into reality. It is now almost 2 years later since I created my first item and I have allowed things to distract me from taking everything to the level it deserves. I have to become much more intentional with my actions and determined with what I want to do in life. It's time to get more serious, and I can't wait to showcase my current line of products with you all. 

For my first product I created iron on patches! I wanted to make something that allowed you to subtlety express yourself! These patches are a great way to add a little pizazz to your outfit in a simple but effective way. I didn't want to just make simple typical patches, or funny clichés. I wanted to make patches that stood for something. As an advocate for self-love, I want all my patches to encourage, inspire, and uplift you to transform yourself and others into better versions of themselves. Every single patch that I create will follow this guideline and in some way be a reminder of our own personal journeys.... a demonstration of our devotion to creating and maintaining our own happiness.

Ladies how many times have you gone out and scoped what could be your future prince charming? Only to never get his name, number, or honestly even interact with him? If Princess Jasmine taught us anything she taught us that we should always go for what we want and to take that chance. You never want to be sitting around thinking "If Only..." or "What If..."

I wore this outfit on a night out with my girls, and I felt so pretty!  All night I kept getting comparisons to Princess Jasmine, Selena, and the Coming To America Princess. My hair clearly played a role in that last one lol. All comparisons were huge compliments because all three people served LOOKS, and I can definitely see myself as a blend of all three. Overall it definitely was a good night, and this outfit played a huge role in it. When you look good you feel good!

I'm all for creating a look that is simple and feminine. It is honestly my favorite type of outfit. This outfit is literally jeans, a top, and sandals.... EASY. And yet it has an elevated appeal to it. I love finding tops that have a little pizzazz and are eye catching. So when I saw this top I had to have it. I've always been drawn to tops that have a unique structure to them. It features binding like a corset, puffy sleeves, sheer sexiness, and embroidered material that pops. All of these qualities make it the perfect feminine top.

I was able to score this top on SHEIN they had a few different styles! Honestly many lingerie style tops or bodysuits will give you this same effect, and SHEIN has a ton of these if you're interested. You just have to make sure the upper area is lined otherwise you'll wind up showing a lot more skin then you intended! My pants are high-waisted jeans I got from the H&M outlet for less then $15.00! They are so flattering and comfy! I love the color of these, they easily pair well with most tops. I definitely have to make another trip to the outlet, so I can try and score more of these jeans!
