It's hard to believe that the holiday season is over. I really enjoyed myself this year. I was surrounded by family and friends, and made new special memories. Every weekend there was some sort of celebration I was attending. It's always great to get out of the house and do something different. In my family we celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, and new years. This year the holidays were dragged out for us. My little brother got his first job and my mom got a promotion, so their schedules were so busy. With Kwanzaa you're supposed to open a gift everyday over 7 days. However, because of conflicting schedules it got dragged out. We finally finished opening all our gifts last week. So now the holidays are officially over for me I wanted to share some of my holiday looks with you. Most looks are are simple and plain. I found myself more interested in having a good time then stressing over show stopping outfits. I instead found myself in quality pieces that were comfy, festive, and would be safe around food and children. This first look is a simple dress for a holiday party! You always want to look elegant when attending a more formal occasion. The silky satin material, helped elevate this dress. The dress was loose and flowy. This is great for holidays because I'm sure we all give into the extra slices of pie. Wearing a more flowy dress allows you to indulge and not have to worry about a little food baby appearing. The dress is simple but has cute little details that continue to enhance it. The trumpet sleeve and bow detail help take a simple burgundy dress, and turn it into a holiday favorite. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures above but I have a thing for velvet! Especially velvet boots! For this next look I pulled out a crowd favorite, my little grey boots. I got the opportunity to help plan a vision board workshop! As a member of the team and a representation of FASHMIRA I wanted to look fashionable and not just wear the company shirt with jeans. Throwing on more funky shoes can easily take a simple outfit to the next level.
Now, for some reason red plaid was intense this year. I couldn't scroll down my social medias without seeing red plaid shirts, pjs, scarves, or home decor. Red plaid was just everywhere! And I wasn't immune to this wave of red plaid. I love a good plaid button down, cause they're effortlessly fashionable. I end this blog with my new favorite picture, unplanned matching with my two favorite guys, my brother and little cousin. From the shirts, to the jeans, and gold chains we all clearly got a message from the plaid monster. Unknowingly walking into the living room and seeing them mirror my outfit was definitely a holiday highlight. Overall, the holiday season was fun and eventful. Having fun with family and friends is all you truly need to make your holidays complete.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season. I love December because you get to dress up extra festive with no judgement! Sparkles, fur, sequins, headpieces, ugly sweaters, light up clothing, clothes that sing to you, and anything else you can imagine, it's all acceptable during December. When it comes to dressing for the holidays, I feel like everyone instantly gravitates towards red! So I wanted to mix it up and highlight green! I really feel like mint and emerald green are going to be major colors for the upcoming year. If you follow my instagram alot of my posts have been in the green family. Moving forward green is definitely a color in my Fashmira Forecast. So I definitely had to highlight it in one of my Christmas looks. Plaid has played a major role this past fall and now winter. So, what better piece than a plaid green skirt! It fit my Christmas theme and it is definitely a piece I can continue to wear. I found this skirt and fluffy top on Romwe. I have always loved furs and fluffy clothing, so I instantly fell in love. It's sassy, sophisticated, and at the same time easily adding a touch of glam to any occasion. I ordered my Romwe items on black Friday and it came in about 2 weeks. And when I put this outfit on... Ohhhhhh Mr. Sheffield!!!!!! Wearing this outfit instantly gave me Fran Fine Vibes! Growing up I loved watching The Nanny. Mainly because of Fran Fine's outfits, she was just always serving a look! She had a mountain full of confidence and would turn heads! She was a major style influencer for me and I still am in awe of her outfits to this day! So when I put this look together I instantly felt like I was embodying her spirit and fashion sense. Now if only I could find a Mr.Sheffield to complete me! I paired the outfit with black tights, knee high boots, gold jewelry, and a black coach wallet. I feel like the tights helped increase the level of glam in this outfit because bare legs could have easily made this look go left. Instead of a large purse I went with something smaller to keep the look elegant and dainty. It's simple choices and changes like these which proves the importance of choosing the right accessories.
This was definitely my favorite outfit I wore this holiday season! It was festive, but still glam and fashionable. I love being able to take an article of clothing that is a little out there, like this fluffy top, and creating a stylish look. I felt like Santa's stylish and slightly rebellious GLAMdaughter! Stay tuned for a summary of all the looks I pulled off this holiday season being posted early next week! -FASHMIRA |
