I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday season. I love December because you get to dress up extra festive with no judgement! Sparkles, fur, sequins, headpieces, ugly sweaters, light up clothing, clothes that sing to you,  and anything else you can imagine, it's all acceptable during December.

When it comes to dressing for the holidays, I feel like everyone instantly gravitates towards red! So I wanted to mix it up and highlight green! I really feel like mint and emerald green are going to be major colors for the upcoming year. If you follow my instagram alot of my posts have been in the green family. Moving forward green is definitely a color in my Fashmira Forecast. So I definitely had to highlight it in one of my Christmas looks.

Plaid has played a major role this past fall and now winter. So, what better piece than a plaid green skirt! It fit my Christmas theme and it is definitely a piece I can continue to wear. I found this skirt and fluffy top on Romwe. I have always loved furs and fluffy clothing, so I instantly fell in love. It's sassy, sophisticated, and at the same time easily adding a touch of glam to any occasion.

I ordered my Romwe items on black Friday and it came in about 2 weeks. And when I put this outfit on...

Ohhhhhh Mr. Sheffield!!!!!!
Wearing this outfit instantly gave me Fran Fine Vibes! Growing up I loved watching The Nanny. Mainly because of Fran Fine's outfits, she was just always serving a look! She had a mountain full of confidence and would turn heads! She was a major style influencer for me and I still am in awe of her outfits to this day! So when I put this look together I instantly felt like I was embodying her spirit and fashion sense. Now if only I could find a Mr.Sheffield to complete me!

I paired the outfit with black tights, knee high boots, gold jewelry, and a black coach wallet. I feel like the tights helped increase the level of glam in this outfit because bare legs could have easily made this look go left. Instead of a large purse I went with something smaller to keep the look elegant and dainty. It's simple choices and changes like these which proves the importance of choosing the right accessories.

This was definitely my favorite outfit I wore this holiday season! It was festive, but still glam and fashionable. I love being able to take an article of clothing that is a little out there, like this fluffy top, and creating a stylish look. I felt like Santa's stylish and slightly rebellious GLAMdaughter! Stay tuned for a summary of all the looks I pulled off this holiday season being posted early next week!

The Winds of Change

I feel like so many things are changing. It started off with the seasons changing. Different colored leaves, shorter days, snowfalls, and cold windy nights. And then life overall is changing. I feel like I'm at a weird age where some people my age are starting families, another group is focusing on finishing school and/or building their careers, and then the final group is still trying to figure out this thing called life. I scroll through my social media feeds and I see a mixture of pregnant bellies, exam grades, alcohol, coffee, travel pics, and more. When your 24 it's just an odd time of confusing changes.

Now this year is coming to an end, and that always leads to a time of reflection. "What are some things that I should change" "What are some things I need to work on?" "Where should I be in life" "What do I want to achieve" I'm not sure about you, but all of these are constant thoughts that run through my head, especially around this time of the year.

For me personally this year started off rocky. There was a lot of unwanted situations and uncertainties going on in my life. However, in the middle of the year something inside of me just clicked. Things just started to get better, and by "get better" I mean FEEL better. Cause, when I look back there was no major life change or anything. However, I was just in better spirits and just felt an overwhelming flow of positivity enter my life.

Out of nowhere, sometimes the winds just change. They change direction, speed, and can cause a disruption. As I took these pics I realized I couldn't fight against the wind. Otherwise, I'd wind up with my hair blown all over the place and my kimono twisted around my legs. I instead had to go with the flow of the wind, adapt to the changes, and make the wind work for me. The same can be said with life. Sometimes things will unexpectedly change and be out of our control. We can either get caught up in the changes and wind up twisted and all over the place, or we can adapt and make the change work for us.

I love how the win caught my kimono. Nothing says "go with the flow" and "positivity" like a flowy 70s inspired kimono. I scored this one from Rue21, on clearance,  for just $8! I typically where a small, however this was the only one that they had left, and it's a large. However, I love how loose and free flowing it is. That's the great thing about kimonos! If it was smaller, it would have a different look and I don't think it would look as nice on me. I paired it with a tan cami that had shimmery trimmed details. The bottoms are high-waisted brown pants that I scored from Pacsun during a "going out of business" sale for just $10. The great thing about these pants is that they are super soft! They're such a comfortable pair of pants and go great for a neutral outfit like this.

I accessorized with brown and gold. Starting off with brown sandals, this specific sandal style is my favorite because it's simple, but just so fashionable at the same time. Next, was a dark brown coach purse which I choose to offset the lighter brown pants. As for jewelry I went with gold to remain in the same color family. I wore an adjustable Alex and Ani necklace which I stretched to the longest length to add a little something to my plain cami top. I continued with my Alex and Ani obsession and wore all my gold charm bracelets. Large gold hoops and my gold rings finish off this jewelry line up.

As I walked outside my kimono and hair flowed with the win. It's something about a kimono that makes you feel light, free, cheery, and optimistic. If you follow me on social media. My most recent post said...
"Bridges Burned and Turned to Ashes.
Sometimes Betrayal is the Blessing."

Sometimes our lives will experience a moment of turmoil. Leaving us overwhelmed and confused as to what is going on and why it's happening to us. However, more often then not we come out of that unwanted moment stronger and better then before. This year has been a true example of this for me. I'm not sure what changed the direction of the windy storm I was experiencing this year, but I'm so happy it did.

Bring It On

Go clovers! Go clovers! Go! Go! Go Clovers!
Our game is fierce, and we are hip
So get on back, you can't touch this!
Our game is bad, we're with our peers
So get that weakness outta here!

Growing up Bring It On was one of my favorite movies. When I found this cute little two piece I instantly felt like a East Compton Clover from Bring It On, so I knew I had to get it. Plus, I think I found a new favorite color combination! There was something about this dark green and goldenrod color that made me feel like a confident queen. No wonder the East Compton Clovers were just some bad behind females!  If this is what this color combo does, I'm wearing it all the time!

I scored this cute set on Romwe for just $9 !! That's right I got an outfit for less than $10! I obviously just couldn't pass that up! Romwe has tons of sets like mine, in different colors and patterns. I definitely see myself ordering more because of how cute, cheap, and versatile they are.

Two-piece sets are simple instant outfits that you don't really have to put much thought into. One of the great thing about sets is that you have the option to wear them together or separately. So I feel like I got a 3 in 1 deal. I can wear the outfit together, I could wear the shorts with another top, or I can wear the top as a shirt  to create various outfit combinations.

TRAVEL TIP: If you're ever traveling for a long time and have limited space for clothes, two piece sets can be the perfect solution for you! You can easily take one outfit and turn it into 3 or more. Purchase a plain solid color set, break it up,  and pair the top and bottom with alternate pieces that compliment it. The outfit combinations can be endless, and you'll save a bunch of space!

This was my favorite outfit that I wore while I was in Atlanta. I just love the look and vibe that it created. It was cute, flirty, fun, and also made me feel like a melanin queen. It really made my skin pop and complemented it.  This was also one of the only days it was hot down there. I really love summer clothes. So, any opportunity to wear shorts and a crop tops, is always a great day to me! Apparently, the month of May, in Atlanta is "spring." Therefore, the rest of my Atlanta trip involved rainy days, 70 degree weather, and jackets. Definitely not that Hotlanta feeling I was looking forward too. So, when the sun and heat finally shined through on this day, I took full advantage with this look!
I went to Lenox Square day, which is a major shopping center/mall in Atlanta. I also walked around Buckhead and took in all the pretty sights. In Atlanta it seemed like everyone dressed so nice at all times. All the ladies had on great outfits, perfectly done full faces of make up,  and every strand of hair was perfectly in place. Luckily this set made me look and feel fashionable, so I fit right in with all the Atlanta ladies.

My Orange Outlet

At the beginning of the summer I took a trip to my local outlet mall. This was the perfect time to go because it was the switching of seasons. I love going during these times because you can always score amazing deals! So when I went, all of the winter items were on clearance and marked super low. The newest addition to my outlet is H&M. Now, H&M already offers reasonably priced items, so an outlet version was sure to be full of amazing deals.

I love saving money, so when I got to H&M I immediately walked straight back to the discounted section. And OH MY GOODNESS you guys there were so many amazing things for just $5! My arms were filled with clothes in about two minutes! Now that I think about it I don't even think I wound up exploring the rest of the store because I got so caught up in the clearance section. There were just so many great finds! A majority of their sweaters were just $5, and this orange sweater was one of them.
Picture
Picture
As you can see the sweater isn't just a cheap basic sweater. It is really great quality, thick, and has great stitching. Plus, it is super soft and comfy. Often times, when you find a low cost sweater it isn't going to last long, it's cheap for a reason. It's either itchy, has pulls at the stitching, or once you wash it's all over! After just one wash it'll magically have linty balls all over, the stitching will begin to get unraveled, or it will just shrink. So, I typically avoid certain sweaters because although the price may seem great, the longevity of the item just isn't there.

The sweaters I found at H&M were different. They were definitely originally some of their more higher end pieces. However, people just didn't wind up buying them, so then they wound up at their outlet store. After a while they still didn't sell so they slowly marked them down cheaper and cheaper. Once the summer hit it got marked to it's lowest selling price, because no one is looking for a big bulky sweater in 80 degree weather. Except me of course!!!

Hitting up the end of season clearance is my favorite thing to do because I score major deals. So if you have the funds to do so, definitely stock up on clothing at the end of either summer or winter. Make sure you grab pieces that are somewhat timeless and kind of simple. If you go for things that are too trendy, when that season rolls back around it may no longer be in style, and you may not even like it anymore. The pieces have to be something that months from now, you know you're still going to love them. Don't just buy it because its cheap! Then you'll wind up like me, with a closet full of brand new clothes, you know you're not even going to wear.

Fortunately for me I've gotten better, and select more versatile, lasting pieces like this orange sweater. Sweaters aren't going anywhere. I was a little nervous because it is quite bright. However, you can mix it up with a bunch of things (jeans, khakis, skirts, shorts, etc.) and it still will look fine. Luckily, vibrant colors are also one of the trends for this year, so I'm still able to be trendy and also have a versatile piece of clothing. I also discovered that orange surprisingly goes well with my complexion.
I've always shied away from it because I kind of felt like a pumpkin in orange. But, for $5 I couldn't pass it up, and now it's one of my favorite sweaters.

Picture
The bulkiness of the sweater gave me vintage vibes, so I hope you enjoy the old school vibes of my photos this week. I paired the sweater with high waist pants because it creates a nice shape. It accentuates the length of your legs and it also takes away some of largeness of the sweater. I then went with brown and gold accessories because the colors complimented each other well. By doing this I was able to keep it somewhat neutral since the sweater is quite bright. Steve Madden Boots, Coach Purse, gold Alex and Ani Bracelets, and my chunky leather belt helped pull this look together.

Summer is approaching very quickly! So I hope you all have the chance to find some great end of season deals and turn them into an unforgettable budget friendly outfits.
