Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Often times Thanksgiving gets overshadowed by huge Black Friday sales and the never ending mountains of food. We run out and chase unbelievable sales. We go house to house for dinners, cocktails, and friendsgivings. While all are great in their own way, let's not forget that Thanksgiving is our moment to be happy and thankful for all that we have this year. In my family, every year my grandma starts off our Thanksgiving with a prayer. In that prayer she blesses the family and shares her thankfulness for the year that is passing and her hopes for the year ahead. She gives a slight recap of the good and bad that we have endured over the past year. She shows her gratitude for the friends and family who are currently surrounding her, and honors those who did not make it this year. The prayer, so simple, repetitive, and slightly drawn out, is one thing that highlights our family's understanding, love, and connection to one another. Much like my grandma I have so many things to be thankful for and hopes for continued growth.
I've advanced in my career and finances have improved (that's always a great plus right?!?) I work with children and seeing them grow and develop is always a rewarding experience in itself. One thing that I feel we overlook is our health. We should never take for granted all of our abilities and the opportunity to live and breath another day. For that I am always thankful. I am thankful for all the personal growth that I am experiencing. Self-Love, Self-Acceptance, Self-Awareness, and Self-Confidence are all key parts to achieving an inner happiness that is infinite. All of which have grown so much these past few months. I'm not quite sure where it came from, but I am truly thankful. This blog wouldn't have been created if all of those things didn't begin to manifest inside of me. Lastly, I am thankful for a great family and special friends who are always there to support me. So, as all of you prepare for your Thanksgiving ahead. Whether you're lining up outside of major stores, whipping up some mashed potatoes, or just trying to find an outfit to hide your soon to be food baby... make sure you take a second to be thankful for those moments and all the beautiful moments of the year. -FASHMIRA
