Thankful For This Year

This past year was quite the interesting one. There were so many unexpected twist and turns. With Thanksgiving just passing by, Christmas on the way, and prep for the new year, I have been doing a lot of reflecting. When I take a second and look back, I am truly thankful for this year. This year was just full of so many different adventures for myself and I am so thankful for each and every one.

The highlight of my year has been moving into my own home. Taking the big step of moving out of your parents home, is a major checkpoint on the winding road of adulthood. After months and months of saving, researching, guided tours, and so much more I finally found the perfect home that fits me to a T. Signing all those papers and getting the keys to my place was so invigorating. Then, being able to decorate it in my exact taste featuring all the things that I love was truly the icing on my already beautiful cake. Every morning when I wake up I'm surrounded by everything that represents Shamira and I love it. I truly am thankful that I was able to find my dream place and have a space that is just all my own. Lastly, I am thankful for my amazing support system that was there for me throughout the whole process.

COVID-19 has caused a lot of issues throughout the world. However, if there is one good thing it gave us, it is time. Time to disconnect and take a moment for ourselves, and also time to reconnect with things that have been overshadowed in the past. With only so much you can do during our lock down/quarantine situation, it causes you to be creative and do things you don't typically do. I have been able to explore new areas! I spent alot of time this year chilling in the car driving and seeing places I don't typically get to take the time to see. I got to take advantage of all the restaurant discounts and try new foods from local restaurants. Now I have found some new favorites! I also got to start back up some old hobbies! Fun fact about me I always have loved puzzles.... intricate puzzles with 1000s of pieces. However, I haven't had the time or space to really dive in. However now, with my very own large dining room table, and an abundance of quarantine time I have been able to complete multiple puzzles again.

For me personally, I was also able to focus my energy onto some of my relationships. During this time it revealed people who were no longer supposed to be taking up space in my life. I was then able to replace those relationships and build new ones. I now am surrounded by individuals who are so uplifting, encouraging , and overall have beautiful spirits. I am so thankful for the ability to nurture these relationships and this new shift in my life.

This year I also was able to take FASHMIRA to another level and began to offer products. With a worldwide pandemic striking us, it was questionable if this was the best time to do so. However, the pandemic instead encouraged my creativity and gave me the freedom to dive deeper into my business.  My upcoming blog posts will explore each of these products so you will be able to understand why I took the approach that I did. You'll also be able to understand why these products are so important to me. I am so excited for what the future holds and I am so thankful that I am able to take the next step at making my dreams a reality. Stay tuned for the journey.
